
The Calgary Archers Club promotes bowhunting, target , and field archery. The Calgary Archers Det'o'ni range is located on Highway 8 west of Calgary, Alberta. Det'o'ni is an old Indian word for bow. A variety of target, field, and 3D animal shoots are held at this site each year.
The range facilities include:
- FCA and FITA regulation target and field ranges
- clubhouse and camping area
The field range consists of:
- 28 target butts
- broadhead shooting area
- treestand practice area
The target range provides for :
- Fita and FCA sanctioned tournaments
- practice for all members
- group training programs for junior archers, scouting groups school groups,
etc.
The Calgary Archers was founded in 1976 and registered under the societies act in 1978. Calgary Archers is affiliated with the following groups:
- Federation of Canadian Archers (FCA)
- Alberta Target Archers Association (ATAA)
- Alberta Bowhunters Association (ABA)
- International Bowhunters Organization (IBO)
